AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – July 2, 2014 – Element Materials Technology announces the acquisition of Accutek Testing Laboratory, a materials testing business with extensive experience serving the Aerospace and Medical Device sectors. With the purchase, Accutek’s laboratory becomes Element’s 44th facility worldwide.

Accutek, a specialist in a wide range of mechanical tests, metallurgical tests, weld services and providing expert consultation, is based in a dedicated 54,000 sq ft laboratory located in Cincinnati, OH. The laboratory has Nadcap accreditation for Metallic and Non-Metallic Materials testing, and is Element’s 13th facility in the US awarded a prestigious Nadcap certificate, believed to be the most held by any independent materials testing company in the country.

Charles Noall, President and CEO of Element, says: “Accutek is an exceptional materials testing organization with an impressive array of capabilities. The team’s expertise, dedication towards customers and its focus on the Aerospace and Medical Device sectors being so closely aligned with our own means the acquisition is a superb fit.

“This investment supports our highly successful ‘buy and build’ growth strategy and will see Element extend its reputation in the Medical Device market, a sector that we see significant growth potential in. The move also strengthens Element’s position in the international Aerospace market; the Accutek team will work closely with colleagues across all Aerospace laboratories, but particularly with the Engaged Experts at Element Cincinnati, with the area a key hub for our leading Prime partners.”

John McCloy, President of Accutek, says: “Element has a global reach and is a market leader, so joining its platform offers our customers many benefits. The work carried out by Element’s laboratories is known for its quality and innovation, so the team and I here are all looking forward to benefiting from sharing knowledge with their experts. We are also excited by the insight and capabilities we can share in return with our customers.”

The acquisition is Element’s second within the Aerospace sector this year, having confirmed its purchase of leading European company GEVA in January. The German laboratory became Element’s first dedicated to aerospace testing in Europe, representing a significant milestone in the execution of the company’s strategic growth plan.

Element has successfully completed seven acquisitions since 2011 and anticipates there being no disruptions to normal operations for Accutek or its clients.
